Elven Library

Eloen only stiffened, body wavering a bit. She let out a long breath, turning to the others and managing an embarrassed smile. "Hello..."

Arri covered her mouth to hide her smirk, clearing her throat to stop herself from chuckling at the situation.

Skalanis chuckled nervously at Aelwynn's question, "Well, hugging can be seen as a way of showing trust between two people." He looked to the side hoping his embarrassment was not too obvious.

Lathai smirked, clearing his throat to keep from laughing before his whistle took on the tune of some human rhyme he'd heard once --- something about kissing in trees.

Eloen let out another breath, clenching her fists. "Lathai..."

He gave her an innocent smile, though the mischievousness did not leave his eyes. "You act as though something has been said, seler? Have I brought offense? I am merely whistling."

Aelwynn nodded, "This I know. I have hugged people before. I simply do not understand if you do not like hugs, as Lathai said, why it is that you would be hugging each other now."

Eloen gritted her teeth. "I know that tune, wolf."

The elf's eyes danced with deviousness and trickery at her words, though he did nothing more than wink and step further into the library, walking over the motionless body of the tiefling.

Skalanis looked at Lathai, he knew the tune because he used to hear children running in the streets making fun of each other singing it. If he were human his face would be extremely red as if covered in blood. "We never said that we do not like hugs but..." He felt as though he were explaining something to a child. "Having someone walk in on such a moment as giving of trust it gives embarrassment."

Eloen let out a breath once more, drifting further into the library, ears burning with embarrassment.

"Oh, just kiss already!" The call came from somewhere deep in the library, beyond the reach of any of those present.

Aelwynn blushed, "Oh! I apologize! I will... Um... Find something else to look at."
She took off down the stacks to find Lathai.

Eloen froze, face turning a bright burning red, every instinct screaming for her to run, but she finds herself rooted in place.

Skalanis stiffened at Lathai's words. The thought of kissing hadn't occurred to him but Lathai yelling across the library made a tick in his mind that that is what someone with feelings for someone did. He didn't understand why this had not clicked before he'd seen people do it hundreds of times he's even seen dragon kin do it thousands if not every day for the many years he was there. Suddenly Skalanis was the one that felt like a child, and his ears showed his embarrassment.

Lathai smirked at the sudden silence in the room, lounging between shelves, book in hand with several more stacked on and around him. When he heard Aelwynn's footsteps approach, he whistled softly to her, ending the notes with the tip of a howl to alert her to his presence.

Aelwynn followed the sound, thinking to herself about how she would go about proving to Lathai that she could indeed dance as she looked down the aisles for him.

Eloen found herself thinking of the mad librarian. Lathai's words had made her want to run, to the librarian as well as away. And kissing... That was how she'd seen humans show affection... How could something so obvious escaped her.

Skalanis unintentionally looked out to the shelves hoping to catch a glance of Eloen, he knew this was a strange feeling but it was very strong in him.

Aelwynn walked until she found Lathai and then slowly made her way towards him. She sat cross-legged on the floor, looking to see if his eyes would meet hers.

Eloen skirted through the aisles, looking for him, catching the occasional glimpse of him and moving closer to him.

Her Lathai did not look up until the book was completed about a minute later, though when he did he smiled, the expression quickly becoming a smirk. "Navigated something, I see."

Aelwynn frowned, "I can make it down a row of shelves..."

"Oh?" He said, grinning as he ran a knuckle down the tip of her nose. "I was unaware."

Aelwynn's brows furrowed, and she looked him over, "Have I somehow displeased you?" She asked.

He shook his head, smirking. "I am mischevious, melyanna'amin."
