Aelwynn's Forest Sanctuary

The first wretched, "Blasted stink!" He roared, swiping blindly out in front of him.

Aelwynn's blade was extraordinarily heavy, and couldn't be lifted one-handed, but it was blessed silver, and would do great damage to them.

Lathai had never been one for one handed weapons, and now was no exception,despite his doubled size. He murmured the can't for glitterdust, snickering when he saw thei bodies lightup in thefog. If he could get close enough, he knew his last spell would allow him to destroy them both at once.

The wolves howled in a blind fury, attacking everywhere at once, hoping to land a hit on him.

Eloen had arrived sometime around when Lathai cast his fog, vanishing again and beginning to climb up the cliff. She reached the top just as the werewolves began blindly attacking, staying in the darkness.

He watched them, studying the vague rhythm they seemed to be subconsciously using. Once he left the safety of the sanctuary, he knew that he be unlikely to return until after the battle. Slowly, he growled before howling, not out of a way to speak but as an expression of raw emotion, a warning, a battlecry. He charged, slicing into the side of one, dodging its swinging limbs and leaping behind them, knowing he could make it back to the city below with little difficulty.

The one he struck howled in agony, the silver coupled with the blessing seeming to almost act as acid would, eating away at his skin. His eyes blazed with a fury and pain he had never known, and he turned his rage to a more spazmatic furry of swinging against his invisible assailant.

Eloen watched, drawing her sword. Though it looked like he wouldn't need any help, she would remain ready, in case.

Aelwynn laid still in the sanctuary where Lathai had left her, an odd peaceful look on her sleeping face despite the chaos around her. The invisibility spell he had on her was fading.

He smirked, rather impressed with the power of the weapon. This battle could be over rather quickly if he could time his attacks just right. He had the upper hand, and he felt, more than smelled or saw, the presence of his friends. If things went sour, Lathai knew that they would jump to his aid. He ducked beneath the injured wolf's blows, sneaking behind the other and jamming the blade into its back, piercing, at the very least, a lung before pulling it free and jumping back to the sanctuary to assess the situation at hand.

The wolf scarcely had time to cry out as it collapsed, it's friend still too concerned with his own wound to bother to do much other than furiously swat the air.

Eloen melted out of a tree, watching Lathai attack the werewolves.

Lathai smiled wide, even as he forced himself to keep a level head. He must have done enough damage to keep the other wolf down, which meant... 

Smirking, he chanted the spell for Mirror Strike and came over, careful, silent, scent masked, and sliced the blade down the fallen were's neck, severing his head clean off to finish him. His spell would cause the other one to receive at least a fraction of the wound, but all he needed was for it to reach the spine.

There was a sickening snapping noise, and the other wolf collapsed. Aelwynn was completely visible now, and stirring slightly.

He smiled as he heard the other die, chanting back the gaseous spell to allow him to breathe and smell. Lathai did not speak otherwise, however, holding Aelwynn's sword at the ready, sniffing and listening for any others of the alpha pack.

The forest was silent. save for the chirping of crickets. Aelwynn groaned with the effort of waking, trying to push herself into a sitting position through the mental fog of exhaustion.

Trusting the silence for the sound of nature, he reversed his other spells and his efforts caught up to hip. He dropped the sword, leaning heavily on his knees as he caught his breath, shaking his head and pushing his hair back as sweat began to fall. "Eloen, Skalanis, whomever else is there --- you may come out now."

The blood from the wolves pooled around their carcasses, but never touched the stone, seeming to avoid the area with their own consciousness. Aelwynn rubbed her eyes in an attempt to wake herself, though it wasn't very successful.

Eloen steps away from the tree, stepping over to the bodies of the werewolves. "I would have liked to kill one myself..."

He smirked, chuckling as he stood up. Lathai stretched before looking at her, wiping sweat from his brow. "You'll have your chance soon enough, little gypsy."

Aelwynn pulled herself up on the grooves left in the tree by her blade, a far-off look in her eye as she came back to this world from the dreamworld.

Eloen knelt beside the body, sighing softly. She closed her eyes, and her shoulders trembled for a moment, though it could have easily been mistaken for her usual ripple caused by the darkness.

He looked at her curiously, realizing suddenly what he had been blind to before. She was in this for revenge. She was vulnerable to Morrigan because of her hatred, not her fear. Vaguely, he wondered at what, or who, it was that she blamed, and how she had become a shadow dancer before any of this could have occurred. 

For now, however, he let his questions rest, save one.

"Are you okay, mellonamin?"

Aelwynn offered a weak smiled, trying not to react to the wolves in case she was the only one who saw them, but a look of confused shock still showed on her face.

Eloen stood, turning away. "Yes, fine." The words sounded a little forced, and she started walking away. "There's...somewhere I need to go. Somewhere I didn't get to visit last time." She heads towards the woods, body rippling.

Aelwynn stumbled a bit, "I... May need help..."
