Vaillhen

The village of Vaillhen, worshipers of Cailleach.

Eloen tried to peer through the dense fog. "This...may be a bad idea..."

Aelwynn exhaled, "The gods told me to come here. I do not doubt them or their purpose."

Eloen smiled at Aelwynn. "Then we'll be fine, seler. With you guiding us, I doubt we'll take the wrong path..."

Aelwynn chuckled, moving into the fog confidently.

As they cleared the fog, a small village came into view. It was incredibly tiny, and a few people were all that seemed to live there. All the residents were human, though they did not react oddly to seeing elves.

Fenris hardly said a word as the town came into view. His head was low, his hair shielding his face and eyes. His entire demeanor seemed to stiffen and close off from the rest of the world. It was like all the life in his eyes had sunken into his soul, retreating behind iron bars that could not be unlocked nor pierced.

Eloen shivered, pulling her coat closer to her.

One of the villagers, a young woman of about 24, ran up to the group, bowing deeply in the elven fashion. Aelwynn seemed confused.

"Greetings. Welcome to Vaillhen. Quickly now, come along. I'll get the mayor." she ran ahead, towards the only decently sized building in the town. Aelwynn shrugged, following.

Eloen blinked several times, following along with the others.

The woman held the door for them, "You can leave your cart out here, if you wish. We'll see if anyone has a spare horse to give you for it."

Thadin kicked his horse into a gallop once the small village came into sight. "Hyah!" He bellowed as he barreled through the fog. He growled at the pain in his arm. He had been clenching it against the pain the whole trip. [not I day goes by that I don't curse that poxy-ridden mongrel. At least I got a decent trophy] he thinks as he strokes the fur of his fearsome cape/hood

Arri follows far behind, laying limply on her horse. She's long since dropped her crutches, and stares meekly to the side as her horse slowly walks towards the village.

Thadin dismounts and approaches a villager." I'm looking for someone. An elf, I mean her no harm I need healing."

The villager chuckled, "There are many elves that pass through here."

Arri's horse slowly walked into the village, though she was absent from its back. A small stain of purple blood stained the horse's mane.

Fenris followed behind, his head still bowed low. He knew not what was going on, only that he had a severe need to trust them. What led him to this, he knew not, only that there was something here that made his heart ache and call out to the lover he had lost.

The inside of the house had two other elves sitting inside, eating, with beds pulled out for them both. They seemed happy. A young girl, a child, almost seemed to be running things. She smiled to the group, "Greetings, ancient ones. Are you here for supplies and lodging?" She seemed surprised by Aelwynn, "Cailleach says you are of Albiorix. Hail, holy one."

Aelwynn bowed, "Hail to Cailleach as well."

Eloen kept silent, head bowed. She had no words for this situation.

She looked to the others, "And it would seem that for now, Morrigan has relinquished her claim on you two. Few are ever so lucky. The gods watch you."

Arri's horse trotted over to Thadin, whinnying softly

Eloen looked up, smiling. "Thank you..."

Still, the elf spoke not, head bowed as though he were in complete, though resentful, submission. He trailed along like a watch dog or body guard, barely restraining himself from growling at passers-by.

She grinned, "The wolf remembers how to bark, I see."

Fenris glared through his hair, though he otherwise offered no reaction at all, still and cold as a statue.

She chuckled, "And you, shade-walker?"

Eloen bowed her head respectively towards her. "I feel free."
