Dark Nights

Aelwynn smiled, "The words are in your blood. They are as much a part of you as your heart. You may never learn of your heart, but does that make it any less a part of your body?"

Eloen wiped her eyes, still smiling. "Well said, arwenamin..."

"Diola lle," she bowed head head, getting off the last of her armor.

Eloen returned her attention to fire, falling silent. Her expression became somber, and she sighs softly.

Aelwynn broke a piece off of the bread she had made earlier, sitting with her, "Your mind is uneasy, mellon. Mani naa ta?"

Eloen is silent for a moment, and when she speaks, her voice is different. Quieter, more regal. "Amin n'rangwa edanea..."

"Uuner uma. Amin dele ten' sen." She nodded, allowing her to speak as she pleased.

((No one does. I worry about them.))

She sighed again, and when she spoke it was with her normal voice. "I want to fight them..."

"We must take caution not to fault all humans for the mistakes of few. They are children of this world, and do not see all that they do. Some may wish to right the wrongs of their forefathers. And if they do, we must give the that chance." Aelwynn spoke distantly, gazing into the forest.

Eloen stood slowly, walking away from the fire. She blurred the deeper into the darkness she went. She stood outside the light for a few minutes. While she was out there, there was a harsh growl from deeper in the darkness, followed by a howl.

Aelwynn jumped to her feet, her hand rested on the grip of her sword. She was unfamiliar with not being in armor, and it showed.

Eloen stepped further into the shadows, blurring completely. There was a loud yelping a few minutes laters, and Eloen stepped back towards the fire, wiping blood off of her sword. She nonchalantly looked back to the darkness, growling softly.

Aelwynn looked into the shadows, "Mani marte?"

Eloen looked back to Aelwynn, then to the darkness. "A few wolves. They know now who the new alpha is." She stressed the word new, continuing to clean her sword.

Aelwynn nodded, putting her sword away, "Careful, mellon. Uuma ma' ten' rashwe, ta tuluva a' lle."

Eloen nodded, looking back to the darkness. "Amin weera, sister, but I feel we can handle any thing that comes our way..."

"Still, it is not wise to give the gods cause to turn unfavorably on us. The wolves have never been enemies of ours. And we should not provoke the natural order of things. Should the wolves have provoked us, that is when we should act." Aelwynn cautioned.

Eloen turned back to the fire. "I have not had the leisure of waiting to see whether beast was friend or foe over the past century, arwenamin..."

"I consider it my duty. If I have it in my ability to spare a life, beast or otherwise, it must be done." She spoke sternly, her voice ringing with the strength of her conviction.

Eloen rubbed her eyes. "I wish I had your strength and freedom, sister..."

"We are all as free as we choose, arwenamin. And to many, I have chosen no freedom at all. The gods' will is my will, and I will act as I am lead by them to." She said with a slight nod.

Eloen laid back, looking up at the rock. "Still, I feel that you have had more freedom than I these past years..."

Aelwynn chuckled, "I'm not sure I'd call staying underground in prayer for a century freedom, arwenamin."

Eloen nodded slowly. "More freedom than living out in the world, sister..."

Aelwynn seemed confused, "Amin n'rangwa, arwenamin. But, if you insist." she settled back into her seat, "I may know of someone who may have survived who could help us. I hate to give false hope, but if we do not have an intended destination, seeking him out may be a tangible goal."
