Echoes of a Memory (Mature)

Kyla sighed, immediately taking the food away from him and his sister and cleaning him before setting him back in his time-out chair. "Raden," she began, looking at him sternly, "Are you hungry?"

She giggled, kissing his chest and snuggling up to the warmth of him. "Si itov wux." She whispered, unsure how long she could last before her poor health took its hold.

Raden reached for his food, grunting, "Mine!"

Hikaru snorted again, exhaling against her hair, blowing it back with warm breath.

She shook her head. "Nod yes or no; are you hungry, Raden?"

Mairi laughed, moving her hair away from his nose and trying to open his mouth just slightly to help him breathe.

Raden reached for the food, ignoring her, "MINE!" he screamed.
Emilyn looked up, setting her bottle in her lap long enough to give a tiny sigh before sticking back in her mouth.

Opening Hikaru's mouth seemed to do little for the snoring, and caused him to drool a little on the pillow.

Kyla shook her head. "If you a hungry, then you should eat the food. Yes or no?"

She laughed again, closing his mouth again and nuzzling against him. Her stomach was beginning to make noises, and she wasn't sure if she was hungry or going to be sick.

Raden slammed his fists down on his legs, screaming, "MINE!"

Hikaru snored a bit, but otherwise didn't move.

Aelwynn yawned a light shiver from the crossbreeze running down her spine. She pressed herself against Lathai, closing her eyes to try and go back to sleep, though Raden's screaming was starting to worry her.

Kyla sighed, massaging her temple and quietly murmuring a limited silence spell on him. "Nod yes or no." She told him once more, knowing that the weak spell would only last a couple of minutes because of how she had set it up.

Mairi carefully maneuvered her way out of his arms and prepared to go outside and bathe. She stood on wobbling feet, wondering at why Raden had stopped screaming but knowing that they were in good hands.

Raden tried screaming, but no sound came out. He jutted out his lower lip in a pout, and began crying. Emilyn sat calmly, bottle in her mouth. She reached her hands up to Kyla, dropping her bottle for a moment to say, "Pwease?"

Kyla looked back at her granddaughter, curious. "Are you teaching him, Emilyn?" Regardless, she lifted her into her arms, making sure to bring her bottle with her.

Mairi came out of the room rubbing her eyes, crossing through the kitchen to retrieve a bit of tea. "Will you need help, atara?" She said, not entirely awake.

Her mother looked over at her, shaking her head. "All is well. Be careful, little one." Mairi nodded, sipping from her cup before proceeding outside.

Emilyn stuck her bottle back in her mouth, looking over at Raden, seemingly disappointed. 
Raden continued crying, though no sound came out.

She sighed, holding Emilyn close as she knelt in front of the other twin. "Raden, look at me."

Raden pouted, lip trembling, looking up at her.

She smiled, "Thank you." With that, she reversed the incantation, ending the spell on him. "I would like you to answer me calmly or I will take the sound away again, alright? Are you hungry?" She nodded her head, "That means 'yes.'" She shook her head, "And that means no. Are you hungry?"

Raden pouted, nodding his head.

She smiled at him, proud. "And if you are hungry, you want to eat. Correct?"

Raden nodded again, still pouting. Emilyn smiled, though the bottle was still in her mouth. Somehow, seeing him obey made her happy.

Her smile widened even more. "And if you make a mess with your food, there's less food for you to eat. Correct?"

Raden nodded a yes again.

She handed him his plate once more. "So, if you are hungry, you should not make a mess with your food. That way, you have more food to eat. Correct?"

Raden sighed, nodding his head, and trying to eat with a little more grace, though he still made enough of a mess that Emilyn turned her nose up.

Kyla cleaned up after him as he ate, smiling proudly. "Thank you, Raden."

Mairi came inside then, shivering and sneezing, towel wrapped around her as she made her way back to the room. "You... S.... Sure you... D... Don't n..n... Need.... Help...?"

She smiled, shaking her head."Return to bed, my child." Though she wanted to help, the fire fox obeyed.

Raden frowned, still not happy to be made to eat, toyed with his own bottle. He waited till Kyla looked away, then tossed it at Emilyn. 
The bottle phased through the side of her head, her body lighting with the magic lines her father bore, as her scream of agony echoed through the house.

Aelwynn woke with a start, running for her robe so she could go out and see what was the matter.

Kyla's eyes blazed as she pulled Emilyn to her protectively, careful not to touch her head. She pulled his remaining food away, setting it out of reach. "No!" She scolded, furious. By now, Mairi had returned as well, and was busy rummaging through the cabinets for the concoction she had made, assuming what had happened.

Aelwynn looked to see if Lathai was awake, almost running from her room to the main room. 
Emilyn cried between screams, her magic blazing through her skin, tears rolling down her cheek. Raden began crying himself, upset that his sister was crying.
Hikaru took a minute to wake, but he hurried to see what was the matter as soon as he woke.

Lathai had left the room just before her, retrieving an assortment of toys and books, as well as the mixture from his sister. Mairi had nearly passed out by now, holding onto the kitchen table for balance as her brother ran in, taking Emilyn from Kyla and asking her where it hurt. Kyla looked at everyone apologetically, the glow gone from her eyes. "He threw his bottle at her head." She said, taking their food and bottles to the kitchen, her hands trembling once more.
