Religion: The Creation of Parthalan Empty

In the beginning of time, the world breathed deeply, and life sprung from her core. When she gave birth to the trees and forests and animals, she also gave birth to the first elves; the gods. Each of her children set to tending over the various aspects of her mother. The firstborns were twins, Albiorix and Morrigan. Each was the opposite of their sibling. Albiorix loved his mother, and wished to create the races from stone, clay, magic, and sky to honor her and take pleasure in all that she was. Morrigan loved the darkness, and nothing else. She was trickery, and wished that her brothers and sisters would fall so that she may suck the life from her mother and increase her own power. As Albiorix worked to create the dwarves of stone, Morrigan sealed them away in the dark of the mountain. Albiorix, being the eldest twin, had much more power than she, and gave the dwarves the ability to build things that would last centuries. And their inventions allowed them to tunnel out of the mountain.
When Albiorix worked to make the halflings of clay, Morrigan squished them down and made them small. Albiorix gifted them with intelligence, allowing them to make themselves useful to predators that would have killed them, allowing them to survive.
When Albiorix crafted gnomes of magic, Morrigan cursed them with madness. Albiorix thwarted his sister again, giving the gnomes the ability to make strong friendships, that they would have companions in their madness, and they would not feel pain from it.
Albiorix made the fae from sky, and because they were crafted from wind and clouds, they hid from Morrigan, and she could not find them to curse them.
Morrigan was angry with her brother for outwitting her, and covering Parthalan in his creations. So she covered Parthalan in a great darkness, so that no light could pierce it.
Albiorix knew that no light he could conjure on his own would pierce Morrigan’s darkness, so he created man of his own light, coupled with her darkness, and ignited his physical form high in the sky, creating the sun, which drove back Morrigan’s darkness.
To this day, the light of Albiorix’s soul burns bright in the sky, keeping watch over the people of Parthalan by day.

Albiorix had a lover, though, (a mortal elven woman) and she was so great in mourning for her lost love, that the gods flew her high into the sky in a desperate chase for him. Because of the brightness of Albiorix’s soul she can never come too close to him again. It is only when Albiorix has spoken her name again may they ever be reunited, save for on eclipses, when they reunite for a single night, and paradise reigns on Parthalan.
